There is a program that can be used to copy files from your PC hard drive on to a disk image, it is called MSA Converter:

You can do this with the ST desktop using virtual hard drives but using that program is much quicker. Also there is a bug in the latest version of Steem that causes it to deal with read-only files on a hard drive very poorly, Cubase often makes its files read-only, so it is definitely best to run it off a disk image.
