hmm, certainly not a newbie, certainly not a regular but I have visited here on & off since, well since having some kind of access to the internet, circa 1998 perhaps.
hmm, I've had st's all very low spec :( all of them have died on me :(
I loved the Tos/Gem bit and more so, AND more so, the programs, A well behaved Gem program is bliss compared to anything on PC or Mac that I have used.
Oh yeah & at least we have a decent file selector even the pc is not as good as the st on this, though my favoured selector was Selectric which I have heard others bemoan.
I never got past first base with st on the hardware side.
