Just a couple of small corrections;
Mega ST (at least the ones I've seen) does not have RF or composite. Only RGB and monochrome outputs. The RGB output should be fine with the 1084 if you make the correct lead, the Mega ST manual should have the poinout of the monitor port. Otherwise abuse google for a bit.
MagiC is not a replacement desktop, but a replacement OS (which includes a desktop, of course).

These are of course just a few, but somewhat recent ones most of them. Some are in diskimage format (MSA) and you need to write these to a DD-disk, you can use MSA on the Atari or check http://makedisk.atari.org/ to see how it's done from Windows. The non-MSA demos are just plain files, copy onto a PC-formatted 720k DD floppy and run.
