You don't need to copy AHDI.PRG to the harddisk auto folder, when you install with hinstall AHDI is copied to your c:/ and will autoboot.
When you boot the harddisk (without floppy) does it print any AHDI message to the screen ? If it does, then do as Ian says, just install the devices in the desktop to have icons for the drives. Or use hotkeys (alt+driveletter) to open a window.
If it doesn't show anything at boot up, then we need to investigate further. AHDI is a bit stupid, and it can only boot from SCSI 0. So if you have a SCSI to boot from and it's not ID 0, change it to that.
I would however warmly recomend to purchase HDDRIVER from http://www.seimet.de/ (or a distributor) as it is better than AHDI on every point and is still upgraded for new perpherals that arrives.
PS. Green TOS? TOS4 should come up as cyan if no newdesk.inf is found :-)
