The best HD software for several years has been HDDriver. It is commercial.

Some still use the Atari drivers, but HDX6 has far fewer features.

As for boot managers, I am fond of XBoot. HDDriver has the ability to boot off of any sector at start up by holding down the drive letter, so many HDDriver users do not bother with a boot manager.
