It is not immediately apparent how to save files as simple ASCII or text files in First word plus. Here's how: First load your chosen doc. Then go to the edit menu and turn off WP mode. Next open the "save as" dialog box and simply change the file extension of your doc to "txt". Click okay , and the programme should announce that it is about to save your document as an ASCII or text file. It works for me. For further info see chapter five of the manual.
