Actually an STe will also be limited to 19200 unless a serial port upgrade like RSVE is in use. I'm not sure where to get an RSVE upgrade these days (got mine 7 or 8 years ago) but its a handy thing to use if you wanna use your st modem port for much, on an *Mhz st you should be able to get it up to 38400 or 57600 without too much trouble. I've heard on faster processors it might be capable of 115200, but I've not tried pushing it that fast yet. A worthwhile upgrade for this project I think. But I should warn you if your not used to doing electronics the documentation is horrible and wont be easy to setup for the first time.
