In one point he has right:
I don't understand why apple uses standard-interfaces,
when you usually can't use standard hardware...
It was a real horror to get a dvd playing on my G3 mac (with OS 9):
I bought a cheap dvd-rom and thought that would be enough...
No way!!! With the DVD-Player of OS 9, you can only watch
dvds (files did work) with an original apple dvd-rom, because
the player checked witch hardware you did use...
Luckily there was a crack for the dvd-player to be found in the
net, so I could use the dvd-player... but I searched days for it!
With OSX you can now use the dvd-rom of your choice ;-)
Sure, the mac is not as perfect as a today's TOS computer would be ;-)
But it's thousands times better than a crap PC...
I have 350 MHz and can do everything I want with my mac
and I still can do everything I need to do with my CT60 an Milan!
Cheers,
Mac
