Agreed on the AHDI upgrade.
While AHDI is pretty much the daddy of them all, its also pretty well out of date too! - I think its also a little slow, in both finding the HD's etc, and in actually running them too!
HDDriver is the only real way to go!
A little info for you, but HDDRiver is XHDI which is the better version of AHDI... More up to date faster, and has better compatibility than AHDI. There is more, but thats the basics
CBHD is very good, if you got an English version, then great... Mine was German and I could not understand it.
Cannot say about HuShi as I have never used it.
If you want, as I have upgraded my version of HDDriver, you can have my old setup if you want? Its 7.something? so fairly up to date... EMail me and I will be more than happy to let you have it, providing its not going to cost me too much to post it of course!

What else?
Well, the O/S in a Falcon, is called TOS ( The Operating System ) and the windows bit that shows you the... Well, Windows and the desktop and so on, is called GEM ( Graphic Environment Manager )... Both of these are built into your Falcon ( And All Atari STs & TTs ), so they dont boot from the disk.
However, while they are pretty ugly, they are very fast, and can be massively improved in many ways.
You can get replacement Desktops, that you may find usefull, such as KaosDesk, TeraDesk, Thing, Ease and Jinnee, and you can also get whole replacement O/Ses too, such as Geneva, MultiTOS, MiNT, and Magic, which are all Atari compatible, and in fact, all they are, are MultiTasking Atari systems, but also Linux can be used on an Atari Too!
My personal favourite would be to use Magic as the OS and Jinnee as the Desktop for it... Very quick, very nice, very powerful, however, many would say that MiNT would be the better choice. I find MiNT far too slow and memory hungry to be used seriously... Especially on something as slow as a Falcon.
If you are going to be using your Atari seriously, then you will almost definitely find that using a MultiTasking OS will improve your setup immensely.
However, if you dont plan on doing any of these, then you simply MUST consider NVDI... Using this alone will speed up your Falcon so much, you will be amazed.
Ok, drivveling on a little there!
Email me mate, I will help you out where I can.
