I do understand how you feel abou the whole ordeal, but you have to wonder what probably led to the downfall. In my opion, you still have to consider management as the main reason why Atari lost? They had no vision beyond it being a good game system or typewriter. Unfortunately in the computing world back in the 80's you really needed vision and money to get off the ground. I am not sure management had it because they failed to deliver when it was needed most.
Points to consider:
Atari ST systems had a Windows interface and mouse like Mac and Amigas before Windows 3.0 came out.
Atari was very simple to use like the Mac and Amigas compared to DOS.
Atari was synonymous with entertainment and vision... Well maybe for us gung ho fans. lol!
Atari STILL has a loyal following even after all the failures.
