Memories, misty water-colored, multi-pixeled memories of the way I was...
I have owned many video game systems over the years. My first was 2600, which I got in 1982 and played constantly for 5 years. Only after the on/off switch stopped working did I replace it with...the newly designed 2600. I still have both systems (the working and the non-working) and pull it out frequently and play one of my many (approx. 60) games. Some of my favorites for the 2600 include Pitfall 2, Montezumas Revenge, and Real Sports Football. The best game I never played was Tutankhamen ( it was stolen just hours after I recieved it for my birthday, Mike S. are you listening) I got a NES in 1988 and played such classic games as 10 Yard Fight and Pro Wrestling, never really got into the Mario Titles. I purchased a Super NES in 1992 and really enjoy playing this system. The controllers are easy to use and very comfortable to hold. I have about 30 titles for the Super NES, and my favorites are the Super Star Wars Series, and NBA Live 95. I get really competitve when I play sports video games, and the Super NES really allows me to get my juices going. The system currently in use in my house is the Sony Playstation. I have had it for about 3 years and still am getting used to all the buttons. I am in the middle of a really good game called Metal Gear Solid. I think that it is the best video game I have ever played, but I would have to say that the best system is the Atari 2600. It was my first, and you always remember your first. By the way I am 29 years old and am a history teacher. My students are always impressed by my knowledge and interest in video games. Thanks for allowing me to relive my youth and impart my interest in video games.
