hi there,

1x1/1x4 is supposed to point out how a chip's memory area is organized on there.
i.e. one bank of 1mbit/4mbit in your case - giving you 128kbytes/512kbytes...then just multiply this value by the amount of chip's on there and you should know how much a certain simm does have.

iirc there were 3 and 9 chip modules as well were memory was organized diffrently and i have no clue concerning those.
