Yes, I use APE to connect my "real" Atari to Telnet BBS's. Works good!

Steve's BBS is up-n-down. Down mostly from what I've seen, but there are a number of others that are up all (or at least most) of the time.

Closer To Home BBS is always up but it's busy and only one user at a time can connect so if you get a failure just keep on trying. Tom Hunt runs it and there's a list of all known active Telnet BBS's posted so you shouldn't be bored. :)

You can use Steve's Atari Terminal Simulator (in Windows) as well.
