Old games are often a lot of fun on the original hardware. I primarily keep my STe around for gaming.

You could upgrade a ST to serve as a full-fledged computer, but I think it is more useful to think of a stock ST as an appliance. There are things it can do and things it can't. You only use it for the things it can do. My STe often serves as a FAX machine for instance.

It is unlikely that you would want to return to older scanning and digitizing technologies, although you certainly could do so. I have a hand scanner you could have for the cost of shipping. I also have a free digitizer (Coloreyes), although it is for stills only.

Well, MagicMac is an alternate OS of a sort. What are you doing on MagicMac? I tried to get a Powerbook 180 running it without success, but I just installed it on a Powerbook 3400C and it appears to work. (More testing is needed.) It would be interesting to know what software you are running (in a different topic/thread of course).
