I was already wondering what monitor you connected.
And i also remember that the pinouts of the Video-Inputs
in the manual of the Commodore 1084S were wrong as
well - at least in the german version.
They switched Red and Green or something like that.

I remember that Ray of .tSCc. made himself an IDE
adapter for the MegaST at very low cost. You can run an
IDE harddisk without TOS 2.06, but you will need a boot-
disk then because the ST won't boot from the harddisk.

Otherwise i recommend to go SCSI. It's definetly not the
cheapest solution but the most reliable one.

Also, if looking for tech documents, i recommend the
Chips'n Chips documentation by Michael Ruge.
