Some thoughts about all that:
I've read some parts of the Coldfire Core 4 documentation
and it (still) lacks many of the 8- and 16-Bit wide
instructions of the 68000. Software compatibility to
existing software is therefore hard to judge and emulation
is required.
The ACP is not necessarily meant as a "Super ST" but
rather as a common "free" platform that origins from the
Atari ST/TT/Falcon-platform but is not restricted to.
As far as integration goes: The Coldfire is available with
Flash and RAM on chip, but Atari customchips such as
the MFP, the MMU, the Glue and the Shifter, would have
to be provided separately if hardware compatibility on
that level is wanted.
I doubt someone will go through all that to have an Atari
compatible system that can still not compete with what
an emulator on a sucky but fast and cheap PC can offer.
I know i sound very negative, but up-to-date Atari
hardware will not be produced i'm afraid.
