Old PC BUS mice seem to work after a fashion as well, though I think they are just as rare now as Atari/Amiga mice, but it's worth checking out any old PC's you have lying around. Failing that you can usually find some At/Am mice on Ebay for £5 or so. It does make life easier. Avoid the orginal Atari mouse, it's crap.
