I do know about Paskud's IDE interface.
The two drawbacks are exactly the reason it is NOT a viable solution. They are HUGE drawbacks. (I can't understate HUGE enough)
Only something connected to the ACSI port is viable. Many people don't want to be plugging and unplugging cartridges all day long, and you'll be doing this while the ACSI port (which was MADE for hard drives in mind) sits there empty. Royal pain in the ASS!!!
You can't use 2 cartridges in the cartridge port at the same time without a Cartmaster ($$$). The savings from buying this device would be offset by the expense of buying a Cartmaster. And even then, who knows if the driver is compatible with most software. AHDI/compatible drivers are pretty much compatible with everything.
Nice hack, but it is NOWHERE NEAR a viable alternative to the Link host adapters.
