It's only 300 baud, which really isn't that bad for an 8 bit since most of the files are small enough that speed really isn't an issue. You can only call out with a 1030, as it has no ring detector built in. There used to be plans around for hacking a joystick to make a ring detector, but I haven't seen them lately. Besides, decent joysticks are too valuable these days to be making ring detectors out of them.
