Hi, David.
This opens up new great possibilities for me, I have been looking out for a description on how to connect a 16 meg 72 pin SIMM direct to my Falconīs 32-bit memory connectors, but found nada... With a SCSI PCMCIA card reader with a 64 meg card, in combination with the OUTSIDE.PRG software, I suppose we are talking 64 meg external RAM here, or?
Suitable for RAM-consuming proggies like Cubase Audio and APEX Media... :)
It also solves another very annoying problem:
I have used Paralellcopy for filetransfers between my Falc and a old 486 for some time, and found it to be both fast and reliable. My idea was to hook up my MAC too, with the Atari version of Parcp, under Magicmac... Soon enough, I found out that Mac doesnīt have a Centronics parallel port :( Appleīs printerport is a serial port and equal to the modem port, even equal connectors, they just have different adresses...
Big dissapointment.
I found that Appleīs printer cable fits directly in the Falconīs LAN connector, (Atari claimed that Falconīs LAN is Appletalk compatible) but even if I could find a suitable software for the Falc to handle it, Iīve been told that this would be a VERY slow connection...
This card reader seems to be the best solution, since thereīs no way to connect a SCSI cable directly between those two computers ;)
So thanx again for the great tips!
