Ok, where can you point me to this 10,000 read/write limitation figure? I hear about it once in a while, but no one has pointed me to a site to prove this. I have a dual CF drive hooked up to my ST for MIDI sequencing, and have not had a problem in years.
All the sites that I have been to (when I was trying to find CF card specs and info) state no limited product lifespan. In fact, they provide LIFETIME warranties! If CF cards really have that short of a lifespan, the CF manufacturers would go out of business because they would have to keep replacing old worn out CF cards.
CF cards have no moving parts like a hard drive. Hard drives are only warranted for 1-5 years. Hard drives sound more dangerous than CF cards if you ask me...
Whether you use CF cards or hard drives, it's always good to back it up just in case.
