Thanks to you all for good advice. What I have done so far is:
1) tested Falcon on TV => :-(
2) tested the voltage on power unit: seems to be ok (11.7 V & 5.1 V)
3) went through the socketed components, pressed them slightly but none of them seemed to be really loose => :-(
4) pressed the 3rd party memory board (with SIMM chips) => :-(
5) tried to swap the 4 x 4MB SIMM chips with 4 X 1MB chips from my STE => :-(
I guess the next logical step is to exchange the card with the original Falcon memory. Unfortunately I don't have a spare one, so Havoc if your offer is still valid please send me your current address... :-)
Unfortunately I'm already moving at my peak level in terms of technical skills. Are affordable Falcon spares still available somewhere? I spent some time browsing different sites and the prices of components seemed to be about the level I paid for the computer...
