AFAIK, there were no large corporate orders for the ST Book, although it is extremely light and has a long battery life, by the time it came out, business were already in bed with IBM/MS, even if IBM and MS weren't in bed with each other anymore at that point (OS/2 and all that). It was also woefully underpowered, the 68000 was showing it's age. For high end TOS apps at that point, it was becoming clear that an 030 was needed, or at least a 68000 that ran at a higher speed than 8mhz
I'd love a Book, but just wish they had used a 68030 in it. Can't see cost having been a problem since it was an executive/business system and Atari didn't seem to mind overcharging for the 68000 version. Maybe a pwoer consumption issue?
