Yes that sounds like a good idea. I have (once) tried to get in touch with them to hear if they would be interested in releasing the sources or/and a binary version of the game to the public.

If somebody would get any luck with contacting them on this matter, the sources would be very cool to upload to The Orphaned Projects Page http://topp.atari-users.net that I am maintaining.

Now, is anybody keeping a website for Atari abandonware? If not, seems like that would be a good enough project to justify the start of a new website. Anyone?
