Normally, you'd want the last Drive in the chain to have Termination ON, (the Zip in your scenario).

Have you shut OFF, then ON, the Zip Drive, (maybe the Progate too), after every change of ID, etc?

BTW, on the Mac side Intech'sŪ Speedtools drivers will make the Zips much more reliable, and twice as fast on the Mac Side... compared to the IOmega stuff.
