Well I've got the answer. I sourced a replacement 2.5 to 2.5 data cable from Lindy (an international computer accessory distributor) at a nice price (about US$8).

This new cable worked, so despite the old cable working with the Seagate ST9145AG (approx 80Mb?), it can't handle something about the Fujitsu. I'm thinking this may be the conductors have been damaged (no obvious signs) or the cores are inadequate electrically. The Fujitsu is 4200rpm and may have a data rate higher than the cable can reliably carry.

Thanks for the input. Now I know it works I just may buy a big drive to go with the CT60.

BTW: My Hades 060 has an 8.4Gb drive and this got filled very easily thanks to my digital camera.

Anthony
