According to some TT030 related test i read in the past, the TT030 has an inherent error in the video circuit that will cause this problem in a normal hi-rez mono monitor in the 1280*960 mode. They built the TT hi-reas mon monitors with a bit of additionl circuitry in the video circuit ( to counteract ) the error in the TTs 1280*960 video output. Hooking another VGA monitor will probably not help determine the source of the problem, because the error in the TTs video circuit does not come into play when it is in VGA mode.
The problem Is most likely with your hi-res mono monitor.
