Careful now ... The Vortex HDPlus had a customized
controller that did not work with anything AHDI-compatible,
i.e. HDX, HuSHi or HDDriver.
In fact - and if i recall correctly - Vortex decided to
exchange exactly 2 SCSI commands which could lead
to data loss when trying to use with a AHDI-driver.

I think i have the original Vortex disks somewhere and
they included utilities to set the drives up. I can dig
them out, i would only need an email-adress where to
send the content.
Also, i think of the two ACSI-ports the HDPlus series
had, only one could actually be used to connect the
Atari ST. Also, i think it had a set of jumpers to set the
ACSI-ID and i think the HDPlus refused to work when two
jumpers were set simultaneously.

Otherwise, i only remember that the HDPlus was terribly -
and i really mean terribly - slow. I really don't know know
if you'll really like working with it.
