Overreacting a little bit?

Hasbro didn't kill anyone. The tramiels killed Atari when they merged with JTS which was already a dying company. When was that? 1993? 94? What developments had their been in the JTS days ? none!

<I say lets show these corporate wankers that they don't know what they're talking about by signing some of the petition around on the net.>

This is ridiculous. Hasbro is a multi-million dollar toy company. What would their motivation be of turning to the home-computer market which is already saturated with PCs. Apple is already having a hard time competing with a well proven platform. What would a new company with a new platform, and absolutely no market presence as a computer manufacturer have ?

That simply is not the market Hasbro is in. They might as well start manufacturing tin soups or space shuttles. Why on earth would they get in to computers?

<I myself only recently got the internet on (but on a Mac) and I never relised how many Atarians are still out there.>

Where were you, under a rock somewhere ?

There are very VERY few Atarians out there. Certainly not enough to make a viable market for anything better than a few sharewares.

<the first Atari I owned was an ST at least 10yrs ago (still got it) and for me there was no other choice because it was so advanced at the time and affordable and at the time then after that I bought many other Atari systems they include many 2600s, two 130XE (I also had a Sega Master System at the time but the XE seemed a lot better), Atari Lynx (one heck of a machine but unfortunately they were hard to buy even when they were new in Far North Queensland Australia they sold quicker than they could stock them, and everybody I knew would want to play it but some were real wankers and end up wrecking them which I ended going through three of them because of it now I"m up to my fourth and I make sure that I'm there when somebody else is using it and everybody seems to ask where they can buy one (I'm planning on buying some more for myself and some to others).>

Do you know what punctuation is? I can't beleive this is all one sentence.

What's your point anyway?

<So I say fight for survial and don't go towards hell (PC) -trust I have gone there and it's not pretty the devil (Bill Gates) tries to make it look good and tells you how great it is though once you're there it just irritates you, but instead be a good Atarian and keep Atari alive by staying dedicated to what was once a great company until one of Satan's army (Hasbro) took it over. >

Devil? Satan's army? Welcome to the world of capitalism.

Valium anyone?
