I see what you are saying. Atari hardware is kept annoyingly high... Far higher than its worth 99% of the time, but then thats the price that many of us are willing to pay to improve the use of their investment.
AS has already been said about cars... My Ataris are perfect for what I use them for, and thats pretty much everythign really.
I have plenty of PCs and all are fairly high end too, as I run both a Computer shop & Cyber-Cafe ( And the shop supports Ataris and I have had a surprising number of customers too, so I may delve deeper into this some day ) and I have extended and converted my house to hold a LAN room, and I have well over 100k worth of PCs and yet, given this fact, why is it then, that only recently I splashed out and bought myself CuBase Score on the Atari ( Just to replace the dingle ) when I have a few versions of CuBase on the PC? Why is it that I have also only recently in getting back into writing Music, that I have chosen to use my Atari and spend even more money on it, than using any one of my many PCs of which I already have everythign I need for it?
Why is it that I always go back to using such programs as papyrus on the Atari, when I also have MicroShaft Orifice and Star Office on the PCs?
Sometimes, no matter how good or fast a PC is, its still lacking in many things the sort of stuff that we take for granted on the humble Atari. For me, its havign my Music played back absolutely 100% note-perfect in its timing, and this is something that no PC can do.
Hell, I have only jut recently spent over £100 on a new RAM upgrade for my TT FFS!
