I know exactly what you're saying. I don't know what it is, Ataris just have a certain kind of 'mojo' that PCs and Crapintosh, with all their complexity and modern 'features', simply lack. My Falcon/060 is graceful, its elegant, and its an absolute pleasure to use, AND ITS FAST! Same with my Milan and my TT (except its hard to call the TT "fast" next to the souped up Falcon). My PCs, on the other hand, are just...ummm, fast. Ho Hum... <ZZzzzz... BORing!>. My Dell Lattitude makes me feel so.... "unique"! "Gee willakers me, I got a fast PC just like --- JUST LIKE 2.5 BILLION OTHER PEOPLE on the planet." Its amazing we're able to even find our laptops at Starbucks. :) Granted, there has been *some* benefit to the epidemic of sameness and dirth of originality in the computer business, but there has also been predictable consequences; dubious business ethics on the part of supplier(s?) -MicroCrapIntel Corp. Inc., vulnerability to computer viruses, etc. Don't get me wrong here.. I work in IT so my job depends on the instability of Windows and the software written for it. If all the datacenters I worked in had Atari running reliably with their pesky ROM OS instead of Wintel servers, a whole lot of people would be out of work. God Bless Windows!
