OOOOHH!!

Glad you asked.

1)Use the new 16-bit version of the 6502 CPU
speed selectable on the fly of course.
The 1st speed, CPU runs at original speed
Second Max speed like 12X times faster.
2) Built in 1.44MB floppy drives controler
and a new DOS for it.
3) Remove the SELF Test form the OS and put
in support for new Graphics modes.
4) Give it 256K of dedicated video RAM and
patch the OS to make its use transparent
and compatable with ALL software.
5) New Graphics modes 320x192-256Colors,
640*200 for 16 color 80 col text mode.
6) 1 MB of 130XE type RAM standard on board.

7) Atari Super BASIC language built in.
A new BASIC that is totally compatable
with current BASIC programs but supports
tons of powerfull new features like Turbo
BASIC XE but with even more features so
that BASIC programs writen on this
version and run at the new speed will
run as fast at the original machine
language programs.
8) Don't make the new OS a GUI keep it
original
