Ok, job done.
I got an Export Expander off some site, and it works perfectly fine on the ST-Compatible Serial port, through a 9-25 Pin adapter.
Funnily enough, it has also cured the issues I was having with the Roland too, and thats now playing just fine.
I have thrown a load of data through all 3 ports, and I have not yet had a problem at all, and I have not noticed any loss of any data of any kind, or at least, I have not noticed it anyway.
I am NOT running anything like HSMODEM, so unless I am proven incorrect, I will not be needing it either.
The Atari port is still my main port, this I have the CBX-K1XG connected to, the Yamaha DJx is connected to Modem Port 1, the Yamaha TG55 is on Modem Port 2, and I have connected the Roland MT32 to port 3, and I am using the Rolands THRU port, to go on to my Akai ( Channels 11-16 ) and the TQ5 ( Channel 1 )
And this is quite possibly how its going to stay for a while... It seems to be working just fine this way.
The MIDI Cables are all really manky so they are being replaced, probably at the weekend unless I get time to get new ones
