Yes, the TT is infinitely quicker than a stock Falcon, thats for sure.
When I got my Falcon, I was absolutely gutted by its lack of... Well... Everything!
Ok, so finally getting 256 colours at 640x480 was a buzz, but the speed that rez suffered, was a biut beyond beleif... Esp when you see it running in High Rez. The TT at least had no serious loss of speed at 640x480, not like the Falcon has, and considering the Flacon is already half the speed of the TT, this was just bad news.
Now, the thing is, that what is now happening to me, is that I am starting to need more and more RAM... I am getting back into CuBase, and with several bits of hardware, I am finding that I am storing a lot of things like BulkDumps / Sysex and so on, all in the Songs, and 4MB I am finding is gettign too tight. Its ok at this time, for most of my stuff, providing I dont need to do much CUT/COPY operations otherwise I get illegal errors and lose the lot.
I need to either get my TT up to at least 16MB, or go back to a Falcon.
I have my eyes on 2 Falcons actually... One is a CLAB MK-X, the other is stock.
Both are 14MB, and both are £200
I am sure that System Solutions sell the TT RAM Cards ( Empty ) to get my TTRAM up to 64MB I think, and these go for £100
So, its pretty much only really an arguement of a TT for £100 or a Falcon for £200
The thing is, that while I am wantign to keep the TT if I get a Falcon, am I going to be in the same boat as I was before and finding that the Falcon is so bloody slow, that it puts me off using Atari altogether, because thats what happened before! - Only before I had the TT to come back to, this time, I wont have that luxury.
What is the Falcon like with BlowUp?
There was a Software and a hardware version of this wasnt there?
Whats CuBase Score v2 like on a Falcon?
Are there any good points to going Falcon over a TT?
