>>Ok, give me your propose. Since PS2 ATARI ST Adaptor which is really tricky costs 25 GBP! So wheres the comaparison in useabilty?
No, no, you dont get what I am saying. I am not knocking it, I think its a great idea, but I just think that it may be a little overpriced, when there are others out there, that are cheaper.
>>Do you know any other device for ATARI ST with adavanteges like Handy? Where you dont need nothing to SOLDIER!!! you dont need even open YOUR ATARI! And you have FULLY PLUG AND PLAY device. And more advantages like MOBILE, you can take it with you easily even in your pocket (i think :) and go to your friend, anywhere wher Atari ST is and you dont need to take your ST!
You dont need to solder or open up the Atari for any SCSI Adapter that I know of?
>>And if you can take your ACSI with you easily im really impressed because thers no device like this for ST, and ACSI adaptors are not produced anymore, more i saw many auctions on ebay and cost of this one is still really BIG. So, by now theres no competitors.
I used to take my Atari HD with me to my mates house all the time, but yes, its about the size of an external CDROM... Erm, it IS teh size of an External CDROM, but its nowhere near as portable as this no.
>Its also ( I feel ) a little bulky for the >cartridge port. One knock and its bye bye >ST and HD.
>>YEs and if you got TANK you need some BOMB to destroy it. Its like everything used with computer, try to knocks your ACSI disk.
I have and do regularly. Its falled off a table while running and its still fine, I have even dropped it out of a bag at over 70mph on my bike and its still running. I would expect any hardware to survice knocks, but I mean, that as its sticking out a bit from the cart port, then that may be problematic? - I dont know, but I have killed STs by knocking the cartridges, so I assume that the same risk is present here???
>>Its simple the same speed as other best ACSI or IDE (internal!) because of ATARI ST
I would have assumed so yes, the speed of a HD is always faster than the ST, I was more thinking of it being across the Cart port more than anything.
--------
I dont mean to offen anyone here, I was more thinking aloud than trying to knock it, because I have told a few of my mates and they have all said it looks a great device, as inded it is, its pretty amazing in fact, but at the end of the day, its still over £80, and you can get a SCSI Adapter, an AT Case, a HD and a CDROM for less, and yes, there are a lot of people paying thick money for SCSI Adapters, but you can still buy them for a lot less than they go for on Ebay.
Just because its ebay does not mean its cheaper.
Thats all.
Would I buy one?
If I had no HD, then I have to be honest here, but I probably would do yes.
