Err... I don't quite understand. Is it not a female-to-female cable?
2.5 and 3.5 IDE are pin-to-pin compatible (unlike the SCSI ones) so it's quite easy to make your own cable adapter (I've done several).
The only thing to look out for is that the 2.5 connector has extra pins for the power (+5V) and GND. So you gotta be careful when you connect the adapter on the motherboard that you put it the right way, on the right pins. I fried a Falcon IDE controller once by putting it wrong (ouch).
