I mean you could take it off the Falcon's PSU as it should have enough juice to spin it but an external PSU is a safe bet as a lot of weird problems can occur with PSUs that are overloaded or faulty. I've run a 3.5 drive from the Falcon's own PSU for a long time without a single problem so it should be fine.
