Oh no, I know you can boot from any HD, IDE or SCSI...
What I mean is that if you have no IDE HD in the Falcon at all, it still checks for one, and it takes a fair while... Maybe what 10 seconds? ( Not timed it though )
If you have an IDE HD, it finds it almost instantly.
Now, what I am saying is that I am considering just going SCSI only, as I have done with the TT, and the STs. ( Only considering it )
So, if I was to remove the IDE HD, then I would be going back to waiting for a million years for it to boot... Cos I use Magic & Jinnee, it waits to check for an IDE Drive, does not find it, then proceeds to boot from SCSI, Starting up the Magic Kernel then restarts the Falcon, it then fails to find an IDE drive, and so I have to wait again!!!
I have an IDE in there now, and its booting nicely, but I am thinking in case I want to take the IDE back out!
