An addition to the previous post:-
I have just been trying to run HiSoft Basic v2.10 and its failing to run anything... Seems to compile, but wont run?
The Message that came up with HBasicTT was that it needed a 68020 or better and an FPU?
So, I tried HBasic standard ( Not the TT Version ) and that would compile but again, it wont actually run it? - I am not of course tryign to compile to HD, I am just trying to run it, but I get nothing?
this is teh code I tried and failed to run
PRINT TIME$
PRINT DATE$
Just to make sure the time & Date are set of course, but no?
Ok, I went to have a look at some other issues the Falcon is giving me
It has no FPU or Blitter?
I am sure the Falcons should have both, but of course, its been a while and I was also sure my TT had a Blitter at first, so I may be wrong... I usually am.
I know my old Falcon had a blitter, annoyingly, I remember my Falcon had an Eclipse PCI adapter too, that I really am annoyed with myself when I remembered that I got rid of it, but hey ho
I have run GemBench 4.1 and it kept crashing, so I ran v3.28 and I got a CPU speed of only 55%??? - I check the 16MHZ tick in teh Control Panel, also the Cache too, and on onchecking it, I got down to 29% so they are both on.
Why is it so slow?
Does this explain why playing back Midi Music is also so slow?
What can explain why the Falcon is quite obviously running at half the speed its supposed to?
I need to run other tests of course, but so far, all I keep getting is more and more miserable with the Falcon exactly the same as I did last time I had one.
