Every Falcon has one?
That must be where I messed up a couple of years back assuming my TT had one perhaps? But then, this is the same htign as before in me finding the Falcon really is so much slower then the TT as displaying stuff?? In fact, its a hell of a lot slower than a stock STE come to think of it... Not at the ST modes, its quick doing those, but in 16 colour, its real bad, and 256 is a complete shambles.
Any PLCC68882 FPU?
So, Farnells or RS components then?
I mean, how much are they? £10? £20? So, getting them from an Atari Dealer I can add a Zero onto that of course! lol
I dont think an FPU is vital for my needs right now...
Falcons CTRL Panel switching 8/16.
Well, I am not using the stock one, its a CPX Module... I will post it on the net tonight which one it is, and see if I can find the original source ( But it was most likely a PD Disk to be honest ) in which case, I will provide a link and put the file onto my own site tonight... I dont think anyone will worry about piracy as I am sure its PD anyway.
Yes, run GEMBench on Clean setups.
I will run it in a few modes of course.
In 640x480, I ca nchose 4,6, or 256 colours and the funny thing is, that I know for a fact that I could not select 4 colours on my last Falcon... I know this because I saw that the less colours I used, the quicker the display, and so I could have done with 4 colours in 640x480 but instead I had to go STHIGH ( 640x400x2 ) instead!
I have been tryign out 640x480x4 in CuBase to try to get some speed out of it, and have a large display too... Still way slower than the TT
Also, I am not entirely sure that NVDI is doing its proper job anymore too!??? - its making very little difference in display speeds... Its helping of course it is, but not as much as it does on the ST & TT.
I seriously hate the display onthe Falcon. The 16Mhz I can cope with, the waiting for the screen to update I cannot.
