Oh Heck.
Anyway, I ran a few GEMBench Tests ( I got v4.01 to run fine )
I tried the stock setup in both 16 and 256 Colours at 640x480 and I got 99% display and 94% CPU so I recon its fine then??? Ok, so why only 55% earlier???
Somethign must have been slowing it down surely?
Anyway, I ran NVDI ( Running 4.11 so where the hell my 5.3 Floppy is I dont know? - I gave all my STE Stuff to a mate, so my installation Floppies must have gone there? - need them back ASAP ) anyway, I got 215% display, so NVDI definitely works then?
16 Color mode faster on TT?
Trust me mate, but thats simply not true.
Maybe if the CPU is doing nothing, it might, but since the CPU is used to display the screen, blitter or no blitter, the TT's display is quicker than a Falcons
This is even more so under heavy multitasking, with more than one window up on screen, the display of the TT is much much quicker, with no flickering of the windows, while the falcons windows flicker when moved whether somethign is under them or not.
Considering I am risking everything on this Falcon now, after getting rid of my last one, I bloody well hope I am wrong, but I compared my TT ( 2MBST+4MBTT ) against my last Falcon ( 14MB + Eclipse ) and I found the TT absolutely wasted the Falcon at everything.
Only thing that the Falcon has going for it was more colours, but at a too hafty price.
