Oh god yes, I am very bias towards the TT... I hold my hands up for that.
I have to be honest with myself here... I have had all STs since the first one which had 2 external Floppy Drives and TOS 1 and every model since then ( not the laptops though, just the STs )
I was gutted when I got my First Mega, realising that the Mega STE was 16Mhz, but still, I held my ground and by the time the MegaST went, it had been fitted into a PC Case, the Cart port rotated 90 degrees and had a Stereo Reply in it, and I built up a small Mixer module for it, with 6 outputs, the Standard ST ones, the Replay ones and a Mixed pair too, even though the ST itself is Mono, who cares, it looked the biz, it had 2 Monitor outputs and a switch ( Colour / Mono ), and 4 x 9 pin ports - Serial & ST Mouse + 2-joysticks based on a small autoswitcher that switched the ST Mouse between Joystick & Mouse automatically, that I "Modified" and had the usual addons such as PC keyboard ( Done with the Serial Mouse through a Qwertyx ) - Oh, and it had a 1.4MB Floppy which was another mod I done, and an 8/16 Mhz Switch too
But... Erm... Where am I?
Oh yeah, I started with that and I was gutted , but the end result I loved even more than the MegaSTE because of what I put into it... I got the MegaSTE well before I had finished with the MegaST and I ended up selling the MegaSTE as I had found that I never used it.
I remember when I finally got hold of a Falcon, I had had the TT about 4 years by the time I got the Falcon, and when I got the Falcon I was expecting to play a million MP3s all at once, have a true colour display at 640x480 and while I knew the CPU itself was half that of the TT, I was also expecting that the extra power of the other chips would more than make up for it, resulting in a much more efficient system...
Quite frankly I simply didnt get it.
I was knocked back by just how poor the Falcon is against the TT.
Ok, so yes, We are both bias towards our own babies, and why not? - I wonder though, if a person was given a choice of which one to use, and was given the option to play with both, which one would they choose?
Anyway, I got this Falcon now, its my second one, and I knew it would be slow... I know that. I have got it purely to run CuBase Audio, thats all I need and its all I want, however, its not even capable of playing back Midi Music at this time??? - its just too slow.
So, with my CuBase defaults, what is in my Auto folder that can slow my Falcon down?
NVDI 4.11
ExtenDOS ( I used that on a stock ST, so its not that )
Thats it!
Anyway, I have killed off the Setup on that Compact Flash Drive, and I am going to have a play with EasyMiNT for a bit.
Dont know if I am doing the right thing cos thats my C:, or rather was before I killed it off??? - Can I Boot between MiNT & TOS?
Only one way to find out isnt there? I may have to re-do the EasyMiNT install, if thats the case, but at least I will get to play about with MiNT Properly anwyay, cos I have never really taken it seriously.
I just wonder how long it should take cos this has been going for over an hour now, but it is a tad big isnt it?
Ok, later dude.
