Can anyone tell me the reason behind the need for an ext2fs with MiNT?
I have just messed up my MiNT setup, and I have wiped it.
I saw just much quicker it was compared to the previous attempt I did, and I will definitely be playing more with it... On the TT however though! - I dont think the Falcon is really up to it as a stock machine, so the TT will be the one not the Falcon.
I also used my CF Card to play about, its no slower than an IDE Drive, so I am happy with that, but I had a 120MB TOS PArtition and a 385MB LNX one, this meant that D: was invisible from Magic / TOS and thats normally my SYSTEM ( Tools etc ) Partition, with E: being my Apps ( WP / DTP etc ) and so on...
If its vital to have an ext2fs then I will have it at the end, so it does not mess my standard partition assignments around... I need to adjust my Archive Drive ( Single 1.2GB that is only viewable through Magic anyway ) and have that with the ext2fs Partition on, so I still get my normal letters, and re-do it that way!
But, can I do without the partition altogether?
I saw that EasyMiNT wanted my boot Partition (C:) and an ext2fs Partition... I am rather hoping that I can somehow do away with it and just use a standard FAT Partition, or is tha the whole reason why my last setup was so bad?
Anyway... I would love to do some experiments under GEMulator... My last effort I was able to get onto GEMulator and its ok ( if slow on that too ) and to be honest, I fancy EasyMiNT on that... Its just getting 180MB onto it is not going to be easy, cos somehow I seem to be missing how to get files onto the Virtual Disks??? ( I dont use Windows' filesystem you see )
Anyway. later.
