Yeah... Computers counting votes... what a laugh! :-(
Years ago our State bought lots of Computer gear from IBM... mostly just to sell tickets for the Ferries... WELL, after a year and a half, the Computers still couldn't tell how many Tickets were sold, or how much room was left on a particular Ferry, (no idea how the any Computer in the world would have trouble with such a menial task), so the State sold them back to IBM for a penny on the dollar, about an $80 Million loss as I recall !
They'd've never've believed me, but with about 20 Ataris and a week or two to program what they wanted... and they would've been set for life. Geesh, 520 STs with 512KB of RAM would've worked plenty fine... Harrumph.
