At one point I bought HiSoft Basic. If I remember correctly the GUI is, how should I say it. Not so hot. It did not seem to get along with MiNT when I tried it. Give it a try without MiNT as a test, if it works then, that's the problem.
GFA is still supported buy the users. After HiSoft didn't work for me I went right back to GFA. GFA now works with MiNT, new editor, new runtime, new libs.
Devpac is fun, but not really the best solution for a full application. Quite tedious, but some people don't seem to mind that.
gcc is ok too, if one don't mind the missing GUI, and fussing with make files and shells.
There's also PureC.
