Cheers on the link... Will be going there in about 2 minutes.
GFA Libraries? Yeah, I think I remember something on that... Never looked into it however as I was well into HBasic by then.
I was going to have a scout around for my GFA stuff and what else I could get on the net, but nver did get round to it...
Last time I played with C was with HiSoft C.
Its an on-the-fly runtime compiler ( Ooh, somehting I remember... Runtime! ) anyway, unlike real C compilers that compile then run, this runs as it goes, but as we know from such programs as GFA, you can write some extremely fast code that does this, so speed should not be an issue.
I still need to be looking deeper into why HBasic wont play, because as you say, go with what you know!
I have put several years into HiSoft you see... First Basic with my ST along with STOS, and while STOS did it for me at first, I soon got into GEM programming and moved of STOS... Then I got PowerBasic as this would let me compile my programs, and then Atari world ran a HiSoft Basic thingy so I got HiSoft Basic, and then HBasic 2... So, I have had a lot of years in sticking with HBasic, workign up teh ranks, and although I am back to square 1, its stil a lot that I put into it and I got a lot out of it too!
So, I will give it a week say, and if I get somethign done, then I will keep it going until I do or dont, but if I get nowhere then I know its time to change.
PureC however... I will have a go on that definitely.... I have hated C ever since I first saw it, but I have also known all along that I will end up doing it.
