the overheating issue Paranoid mentions is a concern for me. I think I'd much prefer to remove this mhz hack as soon as possible. Trying to squeeze as much speed out of 11+ year old retro systems is not important to me. more important is to try to preserve an old system's life span as long as possible and not "accelerate" its death with heat and unnatural frequency rates. so I think this PowerUP 32 thing will be meeting my solder-iron pretty soon!
anders: I found something in the "auto" folder called 50-60mhz (or something similar) do you think that could be the driver? if it is then i'm guessing this turbo device is activated with every boot, but I have not seen the red LED come on once. I'm assuming the LED is used as an indicator. Perhaps the led is dead anyhow. Anyway, i'll try Kronos and see if it can tell me anything. thanks x10!
