I was in the same boat as you mate...
Here is what I did...
1 - Get an internal 2.5" to 3.5" IDE Cable from MAPLINS
This lets you use a 3.5" Drive in the falcon.
However...
Get a Compact Flash to IDE Adapter
Get a Compact Flash Card
The adapter I got on Ebay for £2
The card, you can pick up anywhere these days for a few quid
Bingo!
Use a Compact Flash card as your Internal IDE HD in the Falcon.
Now, my CF Adapters need a small Floppy-sized power connection, so, I simply split the one from the falcon into 2... I just robbed a Floppy Power connector from an old PC PSU but you can buy splitters, anything will do the job.
Just for you TT owners out there that fancy a laugh, you can get IDE to SCSI and SCSI to IDE adapters too... I have a SCSI to ID Eadapter, connected to a Compact Flash adapter, that has a Compact Flash card inside it, and guess what? It boots and everything!
Sweet.
DONT GET THE DUAL CARD ONES! - They dont seem to work too well, although they might as a second device I dont know? not bothered to try.
