The ST was much better for working; surely, its sprites prozessor, high resolution in color and stereosound chip made it a really pretty game console, but the ST GEM was easier to handle and more stable.
Even so he had MIDI basically build in. The ST-Blitter after, which you could compare with the sprites processor, was much more useful, he speeded up even text and bitmap output.
Really impressive of the Amiga was the multitasking ability integrated in the OS. But if I would have to work all the day with a computer, I would prefer a 640 by 400 monocrome monitor with 72 Hz a 600 by 500 coloured 60 Hz monitor !
