>> This does it with bare TOS/GEM?
Dont know.
Im kind of forced to use MAGIC 6 because I have 2 thigns setup.
1 - FAT32 ( BIGDOS CAN USE IT, BUT... )
2 - LONG FILENAMES
>> Errors only with copying.........?
Yes, as I posted in one of the other ones, the whole thign runs perfectly well, its only while I am actually trying to back everything up from IDE to SCSI
>>I'd backup your data files, zero the drive and start again. If it hints at another performance, remove!(which is what your doing!)
Erm, yes, thats what I am trying to do?
Paranoid pointed out a couple of things one for IDE and one for SCSI, and I have checked the IDE cable but since Im using sheilded cables this should not be affected, but I have moved the cables anyway, plus the Hardware mod for SCSI may very well fix it, but since its normally perfect, its only while Im copying I am not too sure it will be worth it... It Never hung like this the last time I backed everything up, however, that time, I used a WINDOWS/TOS Partition on a much smaller HD.
>>Boot in from HD driver or another driver from floppy. - Just to check that things are alright there.
Done, or at least I have tried various flavours of HD Driver however, since I need to boot into Magic and its off a Compact Flash card, it does kind of limit my options.
There is no difference.
>>Do a Diamond Edge, integrity check.
I dont have D.E, however, I do have more PCs than soft Mick ( Who is soft mick? ) and the Drives fully check out with some seriously powerful software.
>>Check your NV RAM settings. (Are in order)
>>Do a virus check!
Done that. nothing.
>>I'm lost as to what the problem is!
>>I only Partitioned it and didn't format.
>>Perhaps also, is there a patch need to run Big partitions??
Partitioned and not formatted wont make a blind bit of difference... Perhaps if the drive has any bad sectors maybe, but other than that, no. A Drive only really needs to be formatted once in its life.
Patch? - No, I think Magic has all it needs for FAT32 Partitions, although BIGDOS has it for GEM/TOS
